Here is a short video from one of our pastors, Stew, as he talks about life at SCPC this week.
Welcome to The Pastors’ Post, an update for life at Southern Cross.
Today is a special Mother’s Day post. As you would know, this Sunday is Mother’s Day and it does provide an opportunity to stop and for all to consider our mums. I wonder if you remember the short video we showed a couple of years ago? They created a mock interview and had people’s jaw drop at the requirements of this role. They thought they were applying for what was beginning to sound like a 24/7 role! The scene finished by these possible applicants being told not to worry, the unbelievable role had already been filled…by incredible mums.
So don’t forget, you can get your incredible mum or the other wonderful women in your life, or if you are a woman and listening or reading along, get along to the North Coast Christian Women’s Convention next weekend Saturday May 15 at Alstonville Baptist Church.
And yet even the best mums have their down days or your mum might have been down on you for much of your life. And so isn’t it great that together all of us, even mums that are tired and feeling a bit down can find refuge in the safest place on earth.
1 Whoever dwells in the shelter of the Most High
will rest in the shadow of the Almighty.
2 I will say of the Lord, “He is my refuge and my fortress,
my God, in whom I trust.”
3 Surely he will save you
from the fowler’s snare
and from the deadly pestilence.
4 He will cover you with his feathers,
and under his wings you will find refuge.
Psalm 91:1-4
