Here is a short video from one of our pastors, Stew, as he talks about life at SCPC this week.
Below is the text from the video.
Welcome to The Pastors’ Post, an update about life at Southern Cross.
A week can be a long time can’t it?! Last Sunday, Tim McDonald was confirmed into the Families Pastor role, following the endorsement of the financials for the role. Eliza Faulkner was endorsed for an MTS apprenticeship in 2021-2022. Then on Tuesday morning, we farewelled a humble and faithful friend, Ray. Then by Tuesday night, Lyn found herself in hospital following a fall in a car-park. Lyn is in good spirits but has a 6-week recovery ahead due to a fracture in her pelvis.
A week can be a long time! And Lyn has a long recovery ahead, so please be praying for her and Ken, for her family and her Gospel Community as she tries to keep off her feet and to allow her body to heal. As you know, she is a determined lady who enjoys movement and who is always on the go. This will be a difficult season for her.
And yet we trust the good life that our Father God has given us and, in time, we may see the creative ways he has been at work which have been on display across this strange and unpredictable year. The year really is almost over.
Food for Thought Week is nearly upon us! Remember, you can register for Food for Thought Sunday at the Workers Club on our website now, so book in for 9am, 11am, or 6pm. A children’s program will be run at 9am and 11am.
Carols at Lismore High will be on 20th December with a 3pm Matinee and a 5pm Twilight concert. Each session will include a separate children’s program that will run both at 3pm and also at 5pm.
And then don’t forget Vision Sunday is on 29th November. An opportunity for us to pause before the crazy Christmas period and to look towards the New Year. But ultimately we rest in God’s good wisdom and care and look to continue in Christ.
Let me read to you from 1 Corinthians 2:16
16 for,
“Who has known the mind of the Lord
so as to instruct him?”
But we have the mind of Christ.
Thanks for tuning into The Pastors’ Post
