Welcome! to our Sunday Scattering online. Wherever you find yourself scattered, we pray you will be encouraged from God’s word throughout our Term 3 series ‘The Good News We Almost Forgot’.
This Sunday we open to Matthew 6:25-34 to consider that our Father is God. We’ll be asking the question: What do you worry about and why?

Induction of Stew Playsted
This Wednesday 3rd of June we’ll join together on Zoom for the induction of Stew Playsted as our SCPC Lead Pastor.
Food for Thought Sunday
In the weeks leading up to Food for Thought Sunday on 21st June, invite some friends over for lunch and invite them to consider their faith. Welcome them to join you again for Food for Thought Sunday on June 21.
One to One Bible Reading
Church family members, of all ages, are discovering the benefits of reading the Bible one to one – some of us for the very first time. If you are looking for some direction to guide your one to one Bible reading, talk to your GC leaders about resources or drop in to the office and grab one of the bookmarks we’ve created with 6 simple but helpful questions:
- What do you like about this story & why?
- What questions might someone have about his story?
- What do you learn about people from this story?
- What do you learn about God (or Jesus) from this story?
- What do you want to keep thinking about this week?
- How will you respond in your thoughts, attitude or behaviour?
Keeping Our Distance
With Covid-19 restrictions easing, we still need to keep 1.5m distance between us and our visitors. Keep social distancing in mind when you send in your photos.
Term 2 Book Club: Crazy Busy
This week, read chapter 7. The discussion night will be at the end of term on June 24.

| Sunday | Give thanks to God for his loving care, give thanks that he provides for our needs daily. | Pray we can share our Heavenly Father’s love with others so they too can call him Father. | Pray for Chile (and Latin America as a whole). Cases are continuing to rise and soon medical facilities may be overwhelmed. Pray that people will get the help they need. Pray that Christians will share the lifesaving news of Jesus. |
| Monday | Give thanks that God knows us intimately and he knows our needs. | Confess we have a twisted view of fatherhood because of sin. | Pray with R that this current world crisis will continue to draw people to Him. Give thanks for the love and kindness our Father is showing to so many during this time. Pray for wisdom for R with the decisions she needs to make about work, accommodation and her visa. |
| Tuesday | Pray that God will give us generous hearts to share what he has given us with others for his glory. | Ask God to help us recognise the wonderful attributes of our perfect heavenly Father. | Pray that Christians will be boldly sharing the gospel all across the world. Pray that we can show Christ’s love to each other and to those who don’t yet know Him during the Covid-19 crisis and beyond. |
| Wednesday | Ask God to protect us from the temptation to serve ourselves and turn to temporary pleasures. | Pray for godly wisdom and Christ-dependent leadership for Stew as he leads SCPC. | Pray with M for the vulnerable (not only in her country but everywhere) that they might be kept safe, be looked after well and that they will come to know the love of Jesus. Pray for M’s local friends. |
| Thursday | Praise the God of all creation who has redeemed us as his true children through faith in Jesus. | Ask God to keep filling the Playsted family with love as they serve our church family. | Pray that we as a country will look to love and support other nations during this pandemic. Pray that we as Christians will be prayerful and practical in love here in Australia and overseas. |
| Friday | Give thanks to God for the gift of eternal life – that we don’t have to earn it in any way but receive life by his amazing grace. | Pray that our Youth will grow in understanding of God as their Father. For Telaar Maciek | Pray for Linda in Taiwan. She now is expecting to return to Australia on the 19th June. Pray that this won’t be changed again. Pray for her small church family, for strength and joy in Christ. Pray for Linda’s non-Christian friends that they might come to know Jesus. |
| Saturday | Pray that God will grant us wisdom to remember that Jesus has overcome the world and gives us his strength to face every challenge of every day. | Pray that our kids will grow in the gospel at Kids Church tomorrow. | Pray for South Africa. Infections are starting to stabilise but there continues to be massive social needs as the lockdowns continue. Pray that Christians will love people, help with their physical needs and share Jesus. |
