1 Cor 12:1-14:40
4 Love is patient, love is kind. It does not envy, it does not boast, it is not proud. 5 It does not dishonor others, it is not self-seeking, it is not easily angered, it keeps no record of wrongs. 6 Love does not delight in evil but rejoices with the truth. 7 It always protects, always trusts, always hopes, always perseveres. 1 Cor 13:4-7
I know this little section of 1 Cor gets a pretty good workout at weddings but the place it must get the most exposure is in our church gatherings! Cause that is what Paul has been talking about and will continue to talk about.
He is saying, this is what mark our time together, this is what must be at the centre of our interactions, our relationships, our family. For he has just reminded them:
27 Now you are the body of Christ, and each one of you is a part of it. 1 Cor 12:27
Let love be at the heart of our body as each part seek to build and support the other in the good and the bad:
26 If one part suffers, every part suffers with it; if one part is honored, every part rejoices with it. 1 Cor 12:26
