As announced on Sunday, we’re having a “Reno Rumble” this Saturday to get the two student houses ready for photos & sale. It will definitely be a case of “many hands make light work” so please consider coming along for all or part of the day.
Details are as follows:
RED TEAM (Crosthwaite, Tilley, Thompson, McPherson & Coutts GCs)
Date & Time: Easter Saturday, 9am-3pm (all or part).
Project: 101 Dalley St
Gear: spray pack, high pressure sprayers, gardening & lawn gear, 2 trailers & tarps/covers/nets/ropes (one for buying mulch & getting rid of green waste, the other for buying other materials and getting rid of other waste), wheelbarrows, orbital sander (or other), hammer & nail punch, flyscreen roller, drop/cover sheets
Shopping list: 4L deck clean, 4L water-based decking oil (clear/natural), decking oil applicator, flyscreen mesh & spline (measure for quantities), curtain rod (measure), Gyprock, cornice, cornice cement & joint compound (measure for quantities),
Main jobs: most work is outside. Spray under eaves with bleach solution (2L in 15L water), leave for an hr then give a LIGHT spray with high-pressure prayer; weed & mulch garden beds; prune untidy plants; remove rotten wood from front fence; rejuvenate rear deck & handrail; Use high-pressure cleaners to spray front path & driveway; take all waste to the tip. Inside, remove and replace cornice and water damaged gyprock ceiling in rear bedroom then paint ceiling; replace curtain rod in dining room
BLUE TEAM (Playsted, Roberts, Maxwell & Kemsley GCs & small groups)
Date & Time: Easter Saturday, 9am-3pm (all or part).
Project: 6 Park Ave
Gear: spray pack, high pressure sprayers, gardening & lawn gear, 2 trailers & tarps/covers/nets/ropes (one for buying mulch & getting rid of green waste, the other for buying other materials and getting rid of other waste), wheelbarrows, painting gear, drill, bits & screws, rivet gun & rivets, angle grinder with metal cutting discs.
Shopping list: bleach, 1m cypress mulch, 1L ceiling white, roller covers, paint brushes, wall & door paint (colour?), rectangular zinc downpipe (measure), rivets

Inside, paint unfinished bedroom wall & doors in back room, fix vertical blinds around house
Would be good if we new what people have and are going to bring so where not having quadruplicates of one thing and nothing of several things and how many people are really going to be involved as to may people will cause problems and not enough will do the same.
