Talk 11, Fear of Man

Passage: Matthew 10:16-33
More talks by:

We fear men, when we forget who God is and what he’s done for us. The God of the universe created us, provides for us, loves us and saved us to be his very own children in perfect unity with him for eternity through Jesus, we fear people because we view them as more important than God (bigger than God). Our fear needs to be re-directed from men back to God. To fear God as we were made to (in awe of his majesty and power), is to acknowledge that he is in control and worship him. When we acknowledge that he is in control, we accept that his gifts are good. When we accept his gift of unfailing love and forgiveness through Jesus, we DON’T have to fear his judgement. Because of Jesus, we are free from fear of death and free to fear him with reverence.
