This week’s Bible talk will be dealing with the surprisingly difficult topic of personal change. Surprising, because even though we’d all be happy to admit that we’re a long way short of perfect, the thought of actually doing anything about it is one we’d rather not deal with. Why is that?!
I think it’s partly because of sin – we don’t want to change; and partly because of fear – we don’t know if it’s possible to change or worth the effort. So come along this Sunday, to hear how the gospel addresses this issue and how it teaches us that change is not only necessary but also possible and inevitable for those who choose to live a gospel-centred life.
See you there!
Looking forward to hearing you expound Colossians 3 tomorrow Pete. I’ve started to look at the Bible study booklet questions and I have started my own list of questions that I hope you will answer tomorrow:
* What does it mean that we have died and our life is now hidden with Christ in God? (v3)
* How do we put on the new self and put off the old self?
* What does it mean to let the peace of God rule in our hearts?
I have my own thoughts, but I’d like some clarification on these things that are so important.
