This Sunday 22nd August we invite everyone to join our Sunday ‘Scattering’ on ZOOM from 9:45am for 10am and 5:45pm for 6pm.
We’ll continue our Term 3 Series ‘What Must I Do To Be Saved?’ looking at God’s plan for mission as he provides a way of salvation to the world.
Stew Playsted will open up the Bible to Luke 1:39-80 to help us see how Jesus is the new Adam, the new Israel, the new you. And how our inner harmony can only be found in him. We’ll be asking the question: Why is our world in need of harmony?
If you’re unable to join us on Zoom this Sunday, you’re welcome to listen to an audio recording of the Bible talk here on our website.

KIDS CHURCH THIS SUNDAY
Hello families,
There are many emotions as we juggle life at the moment aren’t there? A song that kept coming to my mind throughout the week is Press on Mums by Colin Buchanan. It’s been a great reminder and encouragement to press on amidst the chaos (and the tears!), and to keep looking to Jesus as we navigate life at the moment. There are good reminders in the song for Dads and kids too! Your family might like to have a listen together.
As we try and plan for the weeks ahead it would be very helpful if you could complete this survey.
We also ask that you complete the Permission form for online meetings.pdf and email it back to peita@scpc.org.au at your earliest convenience. We will keep these on file so we’re ready should we opt to use ZOOM for part of our kids program in the future.
Now, here are some resources for you to use over the weekend. We pray you’ll have some fruitful family discussion and be reminded of just how important the news of Jesus’ birth is to the world!
If you’d like to continue in our series, From Genesis to Revelation – God’s Great Story of Salvation, watch “He’s Here” – Jesus Storybook Bible, Sally Lloyd-Jones as a family. God promised from the beginning that he was coming to rescue his people and here he is! You could chat about the following questions:
- How do we react to the news of Jesus’ birth?
- How important is the news of Jesus’ birth to the world?
- Who can we share this great news with?
It would be great to spend some time praying together too:
- Thank God for keeping his promise and sending Jesus, our rescuer.
- Ask for help to share the good news of salvation through Jesus!
Here are some ideas for other things you could do:
- Make cards that share the good news of Jesus. Post to the people you thought of in your discussion.
- Mary visits Elizabeth word search – 3 levels.pdf
- Mary Visited Elizabeth – Puppet Figures Bible Craft
- Zechariah’s song – colouring.pdf
You can continue learning the new memory verse:
- John 3:16 Memory Verse Video for K-2 children.
- 3-6 can read, colour and display Memory verse mindfulness.pdf if you haven’t already.
And keep on singing!
- SovereignGraceKids – All About Jesus (Lyrics), how are you going with the actions?
- You might also like Jesus Came to Earth, or
- God is Bigger (Awesome Cutlery).
Also, your child’s calico square will be arriving in your letterbox over the coming week. It would be wonderful for them to continue working on these at home. If your child does not have a calico square then perhaps they could creatively represent how God is working in their life, and/or draw some things they’re thankful to God for.
We would LOVE to see some photos of you, your creations, memory verses or song actions! Please send them through to peita@scpc.org.au
Please know that we are praying for you and can’t wait to see you again soon!
